WP InstantPay Product Details

Everything in iPay is based around the product, so the Product Details form is the first step in adding a product to iPay and getting it into the sales process.

Start by filling out the relevant fields on the Product Details form:

  • Product ID

Enter a unique Product ID for the product you’re adding – it can be up to 8 characters and must consist of letters and numbers only.

  • Price

Enter the full retail Price you will be charging for this product. It should be formatted as 97.00 or 7.77, without using a Currency Symbol ($).

  • Currency

Select the Currency you’re selling in from the drop-down list. This list contains all of the Currencies presently supported by PayPal.

  • Product Name

Enter the Name of your Product as you would like it to appear in pages and emails generated by iPay.

  • One Time Offer

If this product is going to be used as a One Time Offer for another product, tick the checkbox, which will in turn activate the drop-down list. You will select the product it will be an OTO for from the list. NOTE: See the OTO Explainer at the bottom of the page for more details.

  • Download Link Expiration

Enter the number of Days the Download Link will be active for as well as the number of Downloads can be made with the Link. When either value is met, the Download Link will automatically Expire. If you do not want your customer’s Download Links to Expire, tick the Will Never Expire checkbox instead.

When finished, click the Save Changes button to add this product to the database.

IMPORTANT: When your product is added to the database, a new page is automatically created in WordPress the title of which is the name of your product. This page is a “Placeholder” and is used to display all content you set up ifor this product, i.e.; Sales Page, Thank You Page, Legal Pages, etc.

If you view this page in WordPress, you will find only this code [Products proCode=WP0001]. Needless to say that if you should modify this code in any way, or delete it, the product pages will no longer work.

ONE TIME OFFER EXPLAINER

WP InstantPay uses a true OTO system in the sense that no one will be able to see the OTO other than immediately after purchasing a product from you through iPay (Learn More About OTO’s Here).

After completing a purchase at PayPal, the customer is automatically returned to your Thank You page. If you have set up a One Time Offer for the product purchased, your Thank You page should contain a lead in to the OTO and using the token {iPay_OTOLink}, which will link automatically to the correct OTO sales page.

Once the customer’s session expires, i.e.; they’ve closed their browser, 15 minutes or so has passed, or even shared the link with a friend, this is all that they will see upon trying to revisit the OTO:

NOTE: Obviously whatever theme you are using will be displayed here rather than ours.
